During our club’s inaugural Stars Book Drive, featuring a July 18 community book fair and a week-long online fundraiser, we received hundreds of donated books ranging from academic study books to English and Chinese literature. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, supporters, and volunteers, we raised $570 and donated every dollar to the Stuff the Bus Campaign hosted by San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE), supporting local students experiencing homelessness. Together, we turned the gift of books into joy of reading and opportunities for learning to students in need.
Building on the success of our inaugural book drive, we are creating a community reading area with the remaining donated books and will continue accepting donations while hosting year-round community book fairs. By giving books a second life, we hope to promote literacy, encourage a lifelong love of reading, and expand our charitable impact throughout the community.
